Bonnie Tyler nació hace 61 años como Gaynor Hopkins en Sweken (Gales). Hija de un minero creció junto a sus seis hermanos en una familia humilde. Su voz la llevó a despuntar con varios grupos siendo adolescente. Pero su éxito a nivel internacional le llegaría en solitario. Su primer single "Lost in France" en 1976 se coló entre los diez primeros puestos de las listas británicas e hizo que estuviera nominada a los Brit Awards como Mejor Artista Revelación. Tras este éxito se vio obligada a operarse unos nódulos en las cuerdas vocales que le dieron su distintiva voz ronca y rasgada. Sin embargo, esto en vez de ser un impedimento, catapultó su carrera al estrellato con grandes éxitos como "It's a hearthache", "Total eclipse of the heart" o "Holding out for a hero", que fueron números uno en toda Europa y en América, convirtiéndola en una de las figuras imprescindibles en la música de los 80. A pesar del penúltimo puesto que consiguieron el año pasado, los británicos han decidido repetir fórmula este año, llevando al festival a una vieja gloria como Bonnie Tyler con "Believe in me", una balada rock compuesta por un exitoso equipo anglo-americano formado por Desmond Child, Lauren Christy y Christopher Braide, autores de algunos de los éxitos de Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Hilary Duff o Lana del Rey, entre otros. "Believe in me" es el primer single de "Rocks and Honey", decimosexto álbum de estudio de Bonnie y que ha significado su vuelta a los estudios de grabación tras ocho años de parón.
